Imagery, PETTLEP and Paivio's framework
Imagery creates an experience in the mind using several senses, without the real event happening. Each image serves a cognitive or a motivational purpose, at either a specific or a general level. PETTLEP makes images as close to the real thing as possible, and Paivio's framework helps match imagery to its function.
